The Mary Sano Studio of Duncan Dancing presents the twenty-seventh annual Dionysian Festival, celebrating the 147th anniversary of Isadora Duncan’s birth. Widely considered the mother of modern dance, Isadora was born in San Francisco on May 26, 1877.
Mary Sano and Adrienne Ramm, two of the world’s foremost interpreters of Duncan choreography, will perform authentic Duncan choreography to the music of Chopin and Brahms.
Also featured will be Los Angeles based composer/pianist Tony Sano Chapman, SF Bay Area Butoh dancer Megan Nicely, and Hideo with his unique presentation of Japanese instrumental music. Award winning composer/pianist Merrill Collins will also be returning to present a collaborative piece with Mary Sano.
