Greeting from Mary

January 15, 2010

Dear Friends of the Mary Sano Studio of Duncan Dancing,

Happy New Year! あけましておめでとうございます。

Thank you so much for your support last year! Last year’s highlight was our 12th annual Dionysian Festival and once again talented performers gathered to celebrate Isadora Duncan’s 132nd birthday. This year is the 150th anniversary of the Kanrin Maru 咸臨丸 (1860-2010), the naval ship which brought the first Japanese emissaries to San Francisco from Japan. We are looking forward to celebrating this special anniversary throughout the year by presenting a new work which we have begun collaboration on with many artists (musicians, writers, actors). It is a challenging and rewording project and we are very excited about this opportunity and looking forward to sharing our work with you.

Below is a list of our scheduled events through May. We sincerely hope you can join us for these upcoming performances and special events.

Best wishes,

Mary Sano, Artistic Director
