イサドラは、テルプシコール（ギリシア太古の踊る女神）を再び我々に生き返らせるにはどうしたらいいのか？を常に考えていました。そしてこう言っています。「人間の形態の理想的な美を取り戻し、そしてこの形態が表現する動きを取り戻すことである。」そして今私達に、自然を深く見つめ研究し、身体が失ってしまっている最も美しい形やリズムを追求し、そしてその魂を表現する動きを再発見してください。と語っているように思います。

15th Annual Terpsichorean Celebration

Mary Sano and her Duncan Dancers are performing new work as well as Duncan choreography for their 15th annual Terpsichorean Celebration. Guest performers include Tony Chapman (piano), Hideo Sekino (Noh flute) and others.

Mary Sano is a third generation Duncan dancer, and has been teaching and performing internationally since 1985. She opened her dance studio in S.F. in 1997.

ワークショップは、ゆっくり身体と精神をやわらげ、ダンカンダンスの特徴である自然で流れるような動きを体験していきます。各個人が本来持っている自然で美しい動きやその表現を探求し、ダンカンダンスの基本やコリオグラフィーを学びます。ダンカンの作品には、ショパン、シューベルト、ブラームス、グルックなどがあります。

Help Wanted! – Arts Administration Assistant

This internship is an opportunity to organize, develop and support “Mary Sano and Her Duncan Dancers” a classical modern dance company. Under the artistic director Mary Sano, the assistant will work on administrative aspects of planning a stage performance as well as other tasks which include fundraising, strengthening local contacts, community outreach and marketing/PR.
